Quiz
This one should be really easy.
Remember that Jesus said that those who live by the sword will die by the sword.
This is true and to be understood both naturally and spiritually.
You see, we see the impact of what naturally wielding a sword gets us every time we watch the news. We see the grief of those whose loved ones have died because of the sword being yielded against them. We also see the impact on the person who used the sword incorrectly in that they are either given jail time or the death penalty themselves.
We have learned that we are not to use the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, against others in judgment. But we can share God’s Word with others in loving correction. The difference between the two is (1) our motives and (2) how we share.
Those of us who use the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God will also experience its cutting effects against ourselves.
The more that we use the Sword of the Spirit against ourselves, by reading God’s Word with the intent to apply it in our lives, what we will find is that we will experience death also. The more that we read and apply God’s Word, we will begin to die to ourselves, to our flesh.
That is a very uncomfortable place to be, but a necessary place to be because the more we die to our flesh the more we allow the Lord to make us over and the more we become whom HE destined for us to be.
A child whom has cut themselves usually run to their parents with outcries and many tears.
