Welcome to the Dressed For Battle course for the Giant Slayer Spiritual Warfare Training Course. Here we will be learning why it is important that we wear our whole armor of God and how to activate each of the pieces.
The highlighted bible verses are links that open to allow you to compare several different translations. You can click off of any of the translations so that the verses are easier to read. You can also change the translations, versions, and languages to provide you with an amazing study and research experience through the Biblegateway platform links.
There are 5 garments, 2 tools, and 1 battle cry. Can you list them all?
Ephesians 6: 11 tells us to put on the whole armor of God so that we can stand against the wiles (tricks, antics, ploys) of the devil.
Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we do not wrestle (fight) against flesh and blood.
We tend to forget this key point when we find ourselves getting into altercations, disputes, and debates with one another that at times lead to court cases against one another.
What does the Bible say about our taking one another to court?
Should we justify doing something that God’s Word speaks against?
In 1 Corinthians 6:7, we are told that when we find ourselves going to court with one another we have already experienced an “utter failure”.
So it is important that we make sure that we are dressed for battle so that our enemy cannot derail us off course by having us battle one another instead of focusing on whom our battle is truly against – the enemy of our Heavenly Father.
It is also important that we know how to correctly use each piece of the armor of God so that we don’t hurt ourselves or others by mishandling any of these powerful weapons of warfare.
Our main textbook will be the Word of God. We will supplement our studies with the use of a dictionary to help us to understand the meaning of what we are being shown as well as the occasional internet Google search.
The lessons are self-paced, as well as open book with the emphasis being placed on understanding and the ability to apply what is learned daily and immediately as opposed to how much one can finish. A timeline to finish each module will not be set for anyone. This way the concentration can be placed upon retention instead of completion.
