Spiritual Gardening 101

Why did those writers have to mess with Star Trek?

Am I really supposed to believe that they couldn’t make the storyline interesting without adding that extra twist?

Me: “You can have these new television shows. Iโ€™m good with not watching television (or at least limiting my intake of it).”

Thankfully, for the few minutes that I was subjected to the show, nothing was shown that would lead me to think that this was a part of the new series.  This issue of battle arose for me when I was โ€œwarnedโ€. Had I not been told,  I would have watched it until I figured it out, and then cut it off, but no weapon formed against me prospered, so right at the beginning I was told “the show’s first gay couple is in this one…” and just like that my anticipation of trying to watch was shut down.

Why? This was due to the fact that I have been warned more than once by the Holy Spirit to shore up my gates – my ear gates and my eye gates.

Why? This is due to the fact that what enters thru the gates gets into my mind and if I meditate on things long enough it will drop like seeds from my mind to my heart.

I got to protect my heart at all costs which takes me to the live broadcast Iโ€™m getting ready to do. But heads up, many times the thief that breaks into your house to steal from you comes through someone that you know. It’s someone you let it. The thief comes to steal kill and destroy, but he is subtle in how he enters; especially if you are at home because he doesn’t want to arouse your attention.  You see if you knew he was there, you’d call the police. You’d fight him back to protect your belongings.  So the thief will creep in.

My experience with this television show is an example of the thief creeping in.

To the Christian man:

Will you openly watch two gay men on television interacting?

If yes, maybe you need to come out of the closet yourself because God said, โ€œas a man thinketh, so is he.”

Read Proverbs 23:7

Therefore, if you are a man and you believe yourself to be a Christian, and you can watch two gay men on television with no problem, then the more you feed on that, what is happening is weeds are getting planted down in your heart.

You need to know that they are taking root. When you find that you are no longer responding to turn away from such behaviors, then your heart is being hardened towards it.

What has been planted in the soil will grow, even in the soil of our hearts. What grows will produce fruit.  The heart is the seat of motivation. So the seed will take root and the root will bear fruit. The fruit is your acting out of what is in your heart.  A thief has got in and it is stealing from you, and until now you didn’t know it. But now that you know, what will you do?

This is the same with women. If you are a Christian woman and you entertain lesbian behaviors by viewing them even casually on a television program you are allowing it to be planted in your heart.  What you entertain, you agree with.

Will what you agree with cause you to be positioned against the Creator?

Read Hebrews 10:26-31

Making Excuses Hardens the Ground of Our Heart

We are quick to claim GRACE as our covering.  In doing so, what we are saying is that we can sin and we will be just fine because of GRACE.

In justifying our actions, instead of aligning our behaviors with the Word of God, we run the risk of hardening our hearts because we are telling ourselves, “God knows what’s in our hearts and that we love the Lord. So we are fine because of GRACE.”

But are we?

This thing that we tell ourselves to justify our behavior sounds eerily close to what Satan said to Eve to deceive her into taking something that was forbidden.

Read Genesis 3:1-6

Are we leaning toward our own understanding by thinking that we can do whatever we want because we are already saved by grace?

Do we understand what Grace is?

Define Grace

Read Luke 6:46-49

Read John 14:15-30

Read Matthew 7:21-23

Don’t let anyone fool you to make you think that these “little” things don’t matter.

Read Luke 16:10

The heart is treacherous we are told in Jeremiah 17:9. Humans do not like to be told what Godโ€™s Word says when it comes to something that they enjoy doing even if one is a Christian. So in the closing of oneโ€™s ears what you will hear spoken by the gatekeeper is this:

โ€œNobody has a hell to put you inโ€

What is missed, by the individual who is rejecting the alarms being sounded, is that when a person warns you of God’s Word they are not trying to put you in hell. Instead, they are trying to snatch you out of harm’s way, out of death’s grasp. They are trying to protect you from the adversary who comes to steal kill and destroy.

Read Jude 1:23

Why again would I be okay watching gay aliens?

Baby bye.  Television off.  I got better things to do like keep the favor that is on my life.

No thieves allowed. ๐Ÿ™…

No doubt as you read through my true experience on the battlefield, even more scriptures came into your thoughts. That is the Holy Spirit bringing to your remembrance what the Word of God says on matters.

Please share those verses in the comments as that will further encourage others and me as we battle on the battlefield.
