๏ปฟACTIVITY with Video: Heavenly Driving Lesson 1: Learning to Yield the Right of Passage

Now that you have on the right shoes, it must be understood more is involved in making sure that one has their feet shod. One also needs to be ready with the Gospel of peace. Why?

We need to be prepared for those times when our adversary shows up in a manner that threatens to steal our peace. Did you get a chance to look at the Additional Resources Videos and Mp3s on DIAL 911 – There is a Thief in the House in Module 2? In it we are shown the three things that the thief is after and how he tries to steal, kill, and destroy us. But Jesus made sure that we would be ready when the adversary did show up by training us and teaching us what to expect.

Before we take the Heavenly Driving Lessons on Learning to Yield, it is important that we make sure that we are INSURED. one understands what the enemy is trying to steal, kill, and destroy. So, I want you to pull up and park for the MP3s Lesson Dial 911 – Their is a Thief in the House

To shod your feet is a manner of protection. Are you protected? Are you sure? Let’s check your Insurance.

There are different types of coverage. We want to make sure that you are fully covered. That starts with understanding that John 10:10 does not show us one thief but three.

Let’s identify them. Find out what they are after and take up and put on our Armor ALL as a means of Insured Protection.

What are the characteristics of this thief, and what is it after? Pay close attention because you want to be able to recognize him when he shows up trying to steal.

What are the characteristics of this thief, and what is it after? Pay close attention because you want to be able to recognize him when he shows up trying to destroy.

What are the characteristics of this thief, and what is it after? Pay close attention because you want to be able to recognize him when he shows up trying to kill.

Are you liking this garment so far? Can you see how, when you have your feet shod, you are considered armed with a dangerous weapon by the adversary?

You are now ready for your Heavenly Driving Lesson

It’s time that we learn how to use this garment.

How do we demonstrate that our feet are shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace?

โ€œStand therefore,โ€ is how Ephesians 6:14 starts off before it begins to list the various parts of the armor of God.

Having already discussed what it means to shod our feet, I want to now look at how we are to apply this garment in our lives, and this will lead us, as if in a maze, down two paths: 1) Proverbs 4:27 and 2) Romans 10:15.

Heavenly Driving Lessons 1: Learning to Yield the Right of Passage Directions

For this part of the Lesson, You will need to Letter a piece of paper from A – R. For each letter, you are to fill in the bible verses that support the statements which are followed by a blank space. Some of the blank spaces contain more than one supporting Bible verse. If you need help trying to locate the scripture support, Google is available. Let’s get started. Once you are complete, Click on the attached video where I will give you the answers for each letter.

First off, let me acknowledge that one of our flaws, being human, is that we are hardheaded and stiff-necked. _________A___________ We do not know how to be still. We are told donโ€™t touch, and we touch anyway – A nod at Adam and Eve. _______B_________ But let me explain to you why being still is such a problem for the children of God:

We were created in the image of God. ______C_______We were given Godโ€™s breath, the breath of life, in our nostrils. ________D____________   We are told that during these last days, our Heavenly Father has poured out His spirit on all sorts of flesh, on man, woman, and child, young and old. ________E___________ All of us have been given a measure of the Spirit of God, a gift from God โ€“ and there are many gifts. _________F________ He pours it upon us as He sees fit. _______G____________ So to some, they have a lot; and to others, they have a little, but each one has according to the measure that the Holy Spirit has chosen to give it. _________H__________ Jesus spoke of this in a parable of talents and how one got five, one got three, and one got one talent. ________I___________  Now, understand this, we are talking about the sheer power of which we all get a measure poured out to us.

We are able to get more simply by asking. _________J__________  Even when we ask, we are still going to receive the measure upon which the Holy Spirit knows that we are able to handle, for Father does not put upon us more than we can bear. _________K____________

So, while we are told to not turn to the Left or to the Right ยญยญยญยญยญยญ__________L__________ and noting that God says about us that we are a very rebellious people ____________M____________thankfully He also says that even if we do turn to the left or to the right, there will be a still small voice behind us saying, โ€œThis is the way. Walk in it.โ€___________N______________

So, as shown in the picture above, to the left is war and nobody wants that. So letโ€™s consider the bible verse found on the right under the topic of Peace. It is Romans 10: 15 about how the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace are beautiful. That sounds like a nice place to start, and it fits right along with the garment that we are discussing the need to shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. But instead of just looking at verse 15 we will be considering Romans 10:14-21. Letโ€™s read it now.

Read Romans 10:14-21

So letโ€™s start with verse 14. It says

a.    How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?

b.    And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?

c.     And how shall they hear without a preacher?

Looking at the first point which states, โ€œHow then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?โ€, what we find is that when many are going through issues (trials, tribulations, problems, and/or hardships) many times before they call on God they try to work it out for themselves only to experience the stress and anxiety from the issue at hand getting worse.

The next thing that they do is call upon a friend to pass on to them the anxiety of the burden that they are carrying even though Jesus Christ said that we are to โ€œthrow our burdens on Him.โ€ ยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญยญ_________O___________

According to Romans 10:14, the reason people try to fix things themselves first, and then call on a friend to talk to about their problems and ask for help, is because though they say that they believe in Jesus, and though they may faithfully attend someoneโ€™s church, the problem at hand is that they do not trust God.

If someone was to address the issue of trusting God, we would say that we do, but what do our actions show?

When we trust someone what does that look like?

  • For starters, when you trust someone, you feel safe with them.
  • When you trust someone, you are confident in them that they will not hurt or harm you in any way.
  • When you trust someone, you feel comfortable with them to the point you will let your guard down and be vulnerable with them.
  • When you trust someone, you give them 100% of you, withholding nothing.

Ask yourself:

Do I trust God with my stuff, my junk, and my issues, to give it all to him, sharing and bearing my heart to him?

Subconsciously, I think we all know that whether or not we trust God ultimately boils down to how much faith we have in God. This is why if we are questioned about our trusting God, we become, to some degree, offended by the question.

You see, in Hebrews 11:6, we are told that โ€œwithout faith, it is impossible to please God wellโ€. When quoting that verse, this is normally where we stop. So, what we miss as we quote Hebrews 11:6 is the understanding that there are two components to faith that is necessary in order to please God well.

What are the two components of faith that are needed to please God well?

Many of us have been either trained from infancy about God, or we feel this tugging at our hearts, this innate desire to worship that causes us to go to church and sit in a service, but more is needed.

We need to not only believe that God is, but also that God is our reward. In other words, God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can think or ask. ___________P____________

When we believe that God is able, we are quick to be obedient to do what God tells us to do in the time of trouble โ€“ Call to him. __________Q__________

But, how then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?  ________R____________

This, then, boils down to, who do you call first?

When you are going through trouble, who do you call on first?

Do you call your parents first?

Do you call your friends first?

Do you call your church leaders first?

God said that you were to call Him.

James 1:5-8 โ€œIf any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of GOD, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Read James 5:13-15

Some will refer to James 5:14 as the reason why we are to call for the elders of the church because there it says, โ€œIs anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.โ€

Verse 15 says, โ€œAnd the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.โ€

These verses are used to justify why we call on one another. But here is the problem with that?

Verse 13 states, โ€œIs anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.โ€

So, the first thing that a person is supposed to do is call God in prayer. God should never be a second thought. We are supposed to run to him first.

Do not turn to the left, or to the right.

Stand still in the presence of the Lord.
