Lecture 1
The Power of the Shield – Size Matters
Read Jude 1:20
The shield is not a garment since it is not worn.
It is both a defensive and an offensive tool.
Not only does it block the fiery darts of the enemy that is constantly thrown at us, but it also successfully covers us as we go into enemy territory to reclaim what the Lord says is ours.

To understand how important faith is, letโs first look at a couple of examples where faith was not present.
When ACCESS is DENIED, Why?
The first example we will look at is found in Numbers chapters 13-14 where the Lord told the Israelites to go in and possess the land of the Canaanites because He was giving it to them.
Why was the Israelite’s access denied to the Promised Land?
The Israelites who came out of Egypt did not have the faith to possess the Promised Land as God told them to, so they were denied access. Everyone, 20 and over, died in the wilderness except for Caleb and Joshua who were the only two, out of the twelve spies that went to spy out the land, that had faith that they could take the land as God said.
An Offensive Type of Faith?
Caleb and Joshua had an offensive type of faith that enabled them to fearlessly go up against the enemy and take what God said was theirs. They tried to stand as a defense against the opposing negative report that the other eight spies gave to the nation, but the rest of the Israelites chose to believe the negative report.
When it was time to go in and possess the land for real, both Caleb and Joshua, who were now 40 years older from when they first went to spy out Canaan, were still ready with the offensive type of faith needed to go in and possess what God said was theirs.
What An Offensive Faith Looks Like
When you have an offensive faith, you are not afraid to go, do, or step out of your comfort zone because you have faith in God that HE is going with you to fight for you.
Can you think of anyone else in the Bible who also had an offensive type of faith?
If you said David you are correct. David was not afraid to go up against Goliath and fight.
Hebrews 11:6 New King James Version
6 But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
