Module 4 Feet Shod with the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace – Lecture 3

Lecture 3

What is the importance of Preparation?

Say this with me:

Preparation is never lost time.

It is imperative that you never forget this.

We see this lesson on the importance of being prepared in the parable that Jesus taught about the ten virgins found in Matthew 25:1-13 where five were prepared and five were not.

Read Matthew 25:1-13

Regarding the five that were unprepared, they had to leave to go and get what they needed. We read that they did eventually get what they needed. But when they returned, they were not allowed to enter the wedding feast. Instead, they were told, “I do not know you.” (Matthew 25:12 NKJV)

They could not enter the wedding feast because they were late. They were late because they were unprepared.

How significant is this for us today?

What is the importance of being prepared?

What is the importance of not being late?

What is noteworthy in this parable of the ten virgins is that this is the same thing that Jesus said would be told to MANY in the last days (our time) who would expect to enter heaven.

In Matthew 7:23 we are told, “… and then I will declare to them, “I never knew you;…” (NKJV)

The realization of these verses (Matthew 7:21-23) had a life-changing impact on me to the point that I knew that I never wanted to hear those words spoken to me. So, I began my journey of digging into God’s Word because I wanted to know, understand, and do the will of our Father in Heaven. I wanted to be known by King Jesus. I believe that you are here taking this workshop for the same reasons. God’s Word tells us to take up and put on the whole armor of God and it is important that we know how. It is also important that we don’t wait until the last minute to do this or any of the other commands that God gives us in His Written Word.

Say it with me

Preparation is Never Lost Time.

Because our desire is to enter in, and not to hear such disparaging words (“I do not know you” or “I never knew you”), what is spoken by King Jesus in Matthew 7: 21 is what we need to pay attention to.

Matthew 7:21 King James Version

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Jesus said that he who “does the will of our Father in heaven is the one that shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven. ” This lets us know that it is of the utmost importance that we know what God’s will is and do it.

With this being the case, do you know what the will of the Lord is?

We cannot deny that we are living in the last days. We cannot deny that we are living during a time when Jesus’ return is imminent. So, more than ever, now, we need to make sure that we are paying attention and that we are prepared.

Finish this sentence:

Preparation is never what? _______

The last thing that Jesus said regarding the ten virgins, found in Matthew 25:13 is this,

“Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” (NKJV)

There are some things in the Word of God that our Heavenly Father said were to be a statute until time indefinite, an everlasting ordinance, from generation to generation. One of those things was the Passover celebration that God Himself instituted prior to bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. (See Exodus 12)

The fact that HE made it an everlasting ordinance means that it is a part of God’s will for us to observe this celebration. Therefore, it is essential to learn, now, the significance of this celebration that happens every year on ABIB/Nisan 14th.

Note: In 2023, the Passover celebration, which is held on Nisan 14th every year per the command of the Lord, will fall from April 5th at 6 pm to April 6th at 6 pm, 2023
